The BCS Championship game between LSU and Alabama was the lowest rated BCS Title Game ever. What's interesting to note is that the game only generated a rating of 13.1, which is down 14% from last years BCS Title Game between Auburn and Oregon.

What caused the drop in the ratings? Was it the controversy surrounding who should be playing in the game? Was it the fact that these two teams had already played each other in one of the most boring College Football games ever? Was it because these two teams were from the same conference and one was NOT a conference champion? Was it because everyone outside of LSU and Alabama knew this game would be boring?

Regardless of the reason, the rating was down which clearly shows the declining interest in the BCS format and it's games. As a result, the "BCS" is meeting again this June to discuss further changes, a plus-1 format, because they know they have a flawed system. Wow, if they know their system is flawed then just fix it the way it should be fixed, with a PLAYOFF!!!

- John P.
I had to laugh... or cry at the following final rankings for the BCS.

#1 - Oklahoma State, Big 12 Conference Champions and finishing ranked 3rd and being left out of the BCS Title game to the SECOND place team in the SEC Alabama? 'Nuff said.

#2 - Boise State finished ranked #7 in the BCS and isn't going to a BCS Bowl Game?

#3 - Kansas State finished ranked #8 in the BCS and plays in a BCS Conference and isn't going to a BCS Bowl game?

#4 - Stanford, who finished second in the PAC 12 North Division behind Conference Champion Oregon... is ranked ABOVE them in the final BCS standings?

This list can go on and on and on and every years it's the same thing... The fact that these four even exist like this should be completely unacceptable yet the NCAA just allows it to happen. A playoff would produce a system where the teams who are left out will also cry, but a 9th, 13th or 17th ranked team crying foul because they were left out is much better than a 3rd ranked team like we seem to get EVERY YEAR. Start A Playoff Already!

We saw it coming, not really surprised. The BCS LOVES the SEC. Are these the two best teams in the country? We will never know now... Here are a few excerpts from the article on espn.com:

"It's not exactly a rematch the public was clamoring for -- at least outside of Southeastern Conference territory.

I honestly believe that we finally have the scenario that we need to push a college football playoff forward a step or two closer to happening. No matter what happens tonight in the BCS selection process, a MAJOR BCS conference team will be left out.

Oklahoma State in my opinion should be the team playing for the BCS title against the undefeated LSU. They have more top 25 victories and won their conference. Their only downfall was a loss to Iowa State, an unranked team in overtime. It also should be noted that the loss against Iowa State came on a day when the whole Cowboy Nation was rocked with the news that the Womens Basketball coach and his assistant had died in a plane crash earlier that morning.

Alabama, in my opinion was already eliminated by LSU. The "experts" always argue that the whole season is a playoff so Alabama should be out because they already lost to LSU. Do you remember that game? Overtime, ugly, no touchdowns and 5 total field goals. Do you want to see that again? Alabama also finished second in their conference, SECOND!

Without a playoff, how can a second place team be allowed to play for the BCS title when there are BCS Conference champions that have the same record? All will be announced in less than two hours from now and we will finally find out who will play LSU in the BCS title game. Now matter who they pick though, a team that deserves to be there as much as the other will be left out.

Why do we still allow this to happen in America? Why? Mark Cuban (since you have voiced your opinion on this before) or anyone else with money, call me and let's make a proposal to the NCAA for a better system before they renew the BCS contract again!
