The BCS Championship game between LSU and Alabama was the lowest rated BCS Title Game ever. What's interesting to note is that the game only generated a rating of 13.1, which is down 14% from last years BCS Title Game between Auburn and Oregon.
What caused the drop in the ratings? Was it the controversy surrounding who should be playing in the game? Was it the fact that these two teams had already played each other in one of the most boring College Football games ever? Was it because these two teams were from the same conference and one was NOT a conference champion? Was it because everyone outside of LSU and Alabama knew this game would be boring?
Regardless of the reason, the rating was down which clearly shows the declining interest in the BCS format and it's games. As a result, the "BCS" is meeting again this June to discuss further changes, a plus-1 format, because they know they have a flawed system. Wow, if they know their system is flawed then just fix it the way it should be fixed, with a PLAYOFF!!!

BCS Championship game draws lowest ratings ever
"On one side, Alabama supporters said it was simple: The system is supposed to match the best two teams, regardless of conference, and the Tide have been one of the two most dominant teams in the country.
On the other side, the Oklahoma State supporters said the Cowboys accomplished more to get to 11-1 than the Tide, playing a tougher schedule and winning their conference."

I honestly believe that we finally have the scenario that we need to push a college football playoff forward a step or two closer to happening. No matter what happens tonight in the BCS selection process, a MAJOR BCS conference team will be left out.
Oklahoma State in my opinion should be the team playing for the BCS title against the undefeated LSU. They have more top 25 victories and won their conference. Their only downfall was a loss to Iowa State, an unranked team in overtime. It also should be noted that the loss against Iowa State came on a day when the whole Cowboy Nation was rocked with the news that the Womens Basketball coach and his assistant had died in a plane crash earlier that morning.
Alabama, in my opinion was already eliminated by LSU. The "experts" always argue that the whole season is a playoff so Alabama should be out because they already lost to LSU. Do you remember that game? Overtime, ugly, no touchdowns and 5 total field goals. Do you want to see that again? Alabama also finished second in their conference, SECOND!
Without a playoff, how can a second place team be allowed to play for the BCS title when there are BCS Conference champions that have the same record? All will be announced in less than two hours from now and we will finally find out who will play LSU in the BCS title game. Now matter who they pick though, a team that deserves to be there as much as the other will be left out.
Why do we still allow this to happen in America? Why? Mark Cuban (since you have voiced your opinion on this before) or anyone else with money, call me and let's make a proposal to the NCAA for a better system before they renew the BCS contract again!
We are back online and running again. Our site suddenly disappeared this past summer (imagine that?). We don't know what happened but we are working dilligently to restore and load all the articles we had posted here on this site. If you have something to say, please comment or send us your thoughts and we'll be glad to share them here on this site.
Football season is less than a week away and it's been a crazy off season. BYU, TCU and Utah all finding new conferences, but will it make a difference? I think, if anything, those schools making the changes they did will only bring more controversy to the flawed and broken BCS system that ruins college football. Will this be the year we finally break through? I know, I know, we ask that every year. The BCS contract goes through 2014, hopefully we can get a proposal in place to the NCAA before they award the BCS another 5 years.
Stay tuned...
